“For the first time, golfers have a choice of an 8 a.m. morning tee time or a 1 p.m. afternoon tee time,” said Wright. “The 4-person scramble tournament still offers the Academy Sports & Outdoors Putting Contest, Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive contests, raffle prizes and there’s a chance that one lucky golfer may take home the $25,000 Hole in One contest prize sponsored by Curtis & Clark Energy Services. Top placing teams will receive gift certificates to the club’s pro shop.”

Deadline to enter teams in the Blueberry Golf Bash is Apr. 27, and the registration form may be found at www.nacogdoches.org or call the chamber at 936-560-5533. Maximum amount of teams is 50, so register now.

“We are able to offer this tournament to our East Texas golfers with generous sponsors and hard-working volunteers,” Simmons said. “This year, Piney Woods Country Club will provide breakfast, Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers will provide lunch and LugNutz Sports Bar & Grill will serve a fajita dinner. Golfers will receive a really sharp looking cap from sponsor Texas Farm Products, and Best Water from water sponsor Wells Fargo Advisors.”

The tournament offers more sponsorship opportunities and raises funds that the Nacogdoches County Chamber uses to provide services to members, newcomers and Nacogdoches visitors.
