Obituary: Jo Ann Tippett

     Jo Ann Tippett, 81, ascended to Heaven on Easter Sunday to be united with her husband of 42 years, Bob, who also died on Easter Sunday 17 years ago. Jo Ann was born on August 24, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan to parents Emerson C. Irvin and Margaret A. Irvin.

     Funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at 2:00 pm with Rev. Terry Hodges officiating. Interment will follow at Missionary Baptist Timpson Cemetery in Timpson, Texas.

     Visitation for family and guests will be Wednesday April 11, 2012, from 1:00pm – 2:00pm prior to the service.

     Mrs. Tippet is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob and two sisters.

     Jo Ann is survived by her son, Tim Tippet of Nacogdoches; daughter, Diana Davis and husband Robert and their daughter Chelsea of The Colony, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.

     Jo Ann was a member of First Christian Church, and had been a member of Covenant Presbyterian in Lufkin. She graduated from Texas Woman’s University in Denton and lived in Houston moving to Nacogdoches in 1985. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, reading and travel. She enjoyed participating in several social and church related groups.
