Obituary: William G. “Bill” Ross Sr.

     Pops, Mr. Bill, Grandpa, PawPaw, Uncle Bill, and Daddy lived a long, great life in Nacogdoches.

p style=”text-align: justify;”>     He was a man with few words but everyone knew him, whether it be from his station on North Street that he owned for over 50 years, his kids, grandkids, or just a stranger that Mr. Bill thought needed help. He would help anybody, no matter what the situation.

p style=”text-align: justify;”>     He left us Thursday, January 19, 2012, after a long battle with lung disease. His memories and kindness will forever be with us all.

p style=”text-align: justify;”>     Bill is survived by his wife, Nancy Ross of Nacogdoches; his sons, Billy Ross and Pat, and Joey Ross and Wendy, all of Nacogdoches; granddaughter, Tiffany Barrett and husband Raymond of Nacogdoches; grandson, Jake Russell of Nacogdoches; great-grandson, Raymond Barrett Jr. of Nacogdoches; brothers, Ben Ross of Houston and Bobby Ross of Mount Enterprise; and sisters, Joy Everett of Nacogdoches, Juanita Alcaniz and husband Rene of Nacogdoches, Loreta George of Mount Enterprise, Nora Layton and husband Bobby of Lufkin, and Dora Dyess of Bryan.

p style=”text-align: justify;”>     Funeral services are set for 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2012, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, 5400 North St. in Nacogdoches. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Nacogdoches.

p style=”text-align: justify;”>     Visitation will be held Saturday, January 21, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel.

p style=”text-align: justify;”>     Pallbearers will be Martin Mason, Kevin Boehmer, Billy Higginbotham, David Wingate, Raymond Barrett Sr., and Heath McCartney. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Aaron Polk, Don Lackey, John Bob Cody, Lake Smith, and H.B. Broadway.

p style=”text-align: justify;”>     Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

p style=”text-align: justify;”>     The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the nurses, techs, and staff members of Nacogdoches Medical Center’s third floor and emergency room.
