Obituary: Phyllis Faye Carney

     Phyllis Faye Carney, 70, passed away at her home in Nacogdoches, Texas on Sunday, January 15, 2012.

     Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 10:00 am at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel located at 5400 North Street, Nacogdoches with Ellis Reynolds of East Main Street Church of Christ officiating.

     Mrs. Carney was born on August 15, 1941 in Moorhead, Mississippi to parents Thomas and Pearl Wise. She was married 51 years to her husband Wallace Carney. She took life simple. She loved to shop, read, cook and eating out with the girls.

     She was a member of the East Main Street Church of Christ and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

     She is preceded in death by her parents, her son, Russell Carney, her sister, Pauline Churchwell and a half-sister, Alma Grant.

     She is survived by her husband, Wallace Carney, daughters, Kim Carney, Cynthia Carney and Robin Grissom and husband Randall, grandchildren, James Johnson Jr. and wife Felicia, Jordan Johnson, Jared Johnson, Colton Grissom, Dakota Patrick and MaKayla Patrick, great grandchildren, Bryce Johnson, Haylee Johnson, Josie Hambrick, Lillie Johnson, Chesnie Johnson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

     Pallbearers will be James Johnson Jr., Jordan Johnson, Jared Johnson, Colton Grissom, Mark LaLena, Greg Carney, Matt Carney, Steve Carney and Bryce Johnson.

     Friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 from 5-7 pm at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors in Nacogdoches.
The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff of Hospice of East Texas, Willowbrook, ETMC, Nacogdoches Memorial and Nacogdoches Medical Center Hospitals for their love and care of Mrs. Carney.
