Obituary: Novis Linney

     Service for Novis Linney will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Laird Funeral Home in Nacogdoches, TX. Visitation will start at 10 AM on Saturday morning and continue until service time.

     Novis Elizabeth Linney, 100, of Nacogdoches, TX, passed away Thursday, November 24th, 2011 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law where she resided.

     She was a faithful member of the church of Christ all her life. Novis’ family moved from Tenaha to Nacogdoches when she was 12 years of age. She attended and graduated from SFA , and taught school for over 40 years. She lived in Nacogdoches until she married O. C. Foerster in 1938. He preceded her in death in 1947. She married J. F. Linney in 1948, who preceded her in death in 1981.

     She is survived by her son, George Kerr Linney, three daughters and sons-in-law: Anna and Glenn Burt of Nacogdoches, TX; Patricia K Miller of Nacogdoches, TX; Mary and Michael Ray Louviere, of Nederland, TX. She is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Ellen Floyd of Shreveport, LA., and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

     Mrs. Linney was preceded in death by four brothers: Austin, Otis, Herbert and Edgar Floyd; two sisters: Vera Covington and Golda Sanders.
