Mrs. Nail passed away November 7, 2011, in Nacogdoches, TX.

Born August 26, 1934, in Rusk County, TX, Martha N. Nail was the daughter of the late Alvie and Lamerle (Bird) Sears. She and Joe Nail were married August 26, 1950, in Shelby County, TX. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church.

Martha Nail held many titles. She was lovingly called MaMa, Nannie, Nannie Martha, Grandmaw, and Ryan called her Granny. She had a passion for her Lord, her family and for music. She was known far and wide for her “cornbread dressing” and homemade rolls. Our holidays will never be the same without them!

Giving her up wasn’t easy, but watching her suffer was worse. She was very tired and ready to be with the Lord and PaPa Joe. We can proudly say, we are the family of Martha Nail, our sweet Nannie, mother, and best friend.

Family members left to cherish her memory include her son Tommy Nail and wife Gayla of Dayton, TX; daughters: Daphne Dolese of Garrison, Linda Cain and husband Rayford of Rusk, TX, and Donna Laird and husband Shon, also of Rusk; 8 grandchildren: Jeremy Skelton and wife Melissa, Wendy Tarver and husband Dev, Jarod Cain, Jamie Cain, Tommy Joe Nail and wife Patricia, Shannon Trevino and husband Jesse, Jason Phillips, and Colby Pratz; 15 great grandchildren; brother Robert Sears and wife Brenda; sister Lela Sue Waggnon and husband John; and special friends Pat Cozart, Audrey Oliver, and Betty Hancock.

Martha Nail was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe Nail, brothers James and Jerry Sears, and sister Jo Ann Owens.
