Obituary: Joseph Cline Weaver

     Funeral service for Mr. Joseph Cline Weaver, 87, of Nacogdoches, Texas will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2011, at 3:00 pm at Laird Funeral Home with Dr. Alan Reed and Rev. John Withem officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

     Mr. Weaver was born on January 18, 1924, in the Shady Grove Community in Nacogdoches, Texas on the family farm which had been in the family since 1861, to the late Samuel Claiborn and Mary Ella Humphreys Weaver. He passed away peacefully on October 27, 2011, in Nacogdoches.

     He and Maedelle Huckaby were married on August 30, 1946, in Austin, Texas while he was in the service to his country. They were married 65 blessed years. He was a graduate of SFA Demonstration School and Stephen F. Austin State University. He taught school for several years at Cleveland and Martinsville. He was an ordained deacon in the Baptist church with current membership at First Baptist Church in Nacogdoches.

     Cline is survived by his loving wife, Maedelle Huckaby Weaver; two sons, Johnny Weaver and wife, Sue and Joseph “Joe” Weaver and fiance, Deborah Cuthbertson all of Nacogdoches; one son-in-law, Keith Matthews and wife, Pat of Portland, Texas; two brothers, Loy Weaver of Grand Saline, Texas and W.T. Weaver of Nacogodches; one sister, Jaunita Tomassini of Suisun, California; six grandchildren, Shelley Weaver Sears and husband, John, Casey Weaver of Katy, Christopher Matthews and wife, Cassi of Fort Worth, Randy Weaver of Houston, Clay Matthews and wife, Danielle of Walland, Tennessee and Lucas Weaver of Nacogdoches; five great-grandchildren, Gavin Parker and Austin Sears of Katy, Brooklyn and Kennedi Matthews of Fort Worth and Cruze Matthews of Walland, Tennessee.

     Cline was preceded in death by his parents, Claiborn and Ella Weaver and his daughter, Patricia Weaver Matthews.

     Visitation will be held on Friday, October 28, 2011, from 5-7 pm at Laird Funeral Home.
