Obituary: Jim Jeff Young

     Graveside service for Mr. Jim J. Young, Sr., 94, of Nacogdoches, Texas will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Park in Nacogdoches with Rev. Billy McDaniel officiating.

     Mr. Young was born on June 20, 1917 in Teague, Texas, son of the late Andy and Pearl Blakeney Young. He passed away peacefully on October 12, 2011 in Nacogdoches.

     Mr. Young was born and raised in Teague, Texas and attended school there. He worked the oil fields of Texas and Louisiana for many years. Jim was a member of the Fredonia Hill Baptist Church of Nacogdoches. He enjoyed going to garage sales and watching old western television shows. Jim was known as the “bubble gum man” around town because he always passed out gum to everyone. He also loved to visit with friends, old and new. Jim was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and will be missed greatly by his family.

     Jimmy is survived by two sons, Jimmy J. Young, Jr. and spouse, Selenda, of DeKalb, Texas and Michael D. Young and spouse, Sherrill, of Pasadena, Texas; grandchildren, Teddy Young and spouse, Tiffany, of Slidell, Louisiana, Lori Young of Austin, Texas, Christy Young of Pasadena, Texas, Amanda Young of Pasadena, Texas, and Amber Goble and spouse, Matt, of Vilseck, Germany; great-grandchildren, Kenneth and Abbi Young of Pasadena, Texas, Avery Young of Slidell, Louisiana, and Johnathan and Aubrey Goble of Vilseck, Germany.

     He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence “Flo” Young and a grandson, Michael David Young.
