Obituary: Randall Eric Grimmett

     Funeral services for Mr. Randall Eric Grimmett, 29, of Nacogdoches, Texas will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2011, at 10:00 AM at Laird Funeral Home with C.H. Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Mr. Grimmett was born on May 8, 1982, in Nacogdoches, Texas to Rodney and Brenda Carter Grimmett. He passed away on Monday, August 29, 2011, in Nacogdoches, Texas.

     Randall graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 2000, afterwards he received an Associates Degree at Angelina College. He also attended classes at Stephen F. Austin State University and Blinn Jr. College in Bryan, Texas. Randall was self employed with The Gutter Guys in Nacogdoches. He enjoyed shopping, country music and dancing. Randall had an infectious smile and he loved to make others around him laugh. He was a wonderful cook and he loved to try new recipes for friends and family. He was a thoughtful and giving person, who went out of his way to do good things for others. Randall was a wonderful son, brother, uncle and nephew who had a heart of gold. Randall is survived by his significant other and best friend for life, Melody Arnold; his parents, Rod and Brenda Grimmett; brother, Ryan Grimmett and his wife, Amanda all of Nacogdoches; aunts and uncles, Richard Grimmett and wife, Lisa of Arlington, Russell Grimmett and wife, Kim of Needville, Wanda Kramer and special friend, Larry Blackwell of Brenham and Walter Kelley and wife, Diana of Rosenberg; one niece, Alexis Grimmett of Nacogdoches; as well as numerous cousins and other extended family and great friends; and his canine companions, “Izzy” and “Lady”. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Lou Grimmett and his maternal grandparents, H.M. and Esther Carter and one aunt, Delores Kelley. Pallbearers will be Michael Kramer, Bryan Byrd, Dan Halbert, Ross Grimmett, Cody Hurst and Landon Lawson. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at Laird Funeral Home from 5 until 7 PM.
