Obituary: Bethie Louise Bevers

     Funeral service for Mrs. Bethie Louise Davis Bevers, 84, of Nacogdoches, Texas will be held on Friday, August 26, 2011, at 2:00 pm at Laird Funeral Home with Rev. David R. O’Neal officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

     Mrs. Bevers was born on July 9, 1927, in Trawick, Texas to the late Willie B. and Mary E. Green Davis. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 23, 2011, in Nacogdoches, Texas.

     Beth was born and raised in Trawick, Texas. She graduated from Central Heights High School. She graduated from nursing school and after raising her children she worked as a pediatric nurse before retiring. Beth was a Clerk of the Session for Trawick Presbyterian Church and had taught Sunday School. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Cushing. Beth loved visiting family and friends and was always thoughtful of others. She had a very generous soul and was a loyal and patient friend. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and all who knew her will miss her tremendous spirit and goodness.

     Beth is survived by her three children, daughter, Mary Bevers Johnson and husband, Charles of Richardson, Texas, daughter, Cheryl Bevers of Nacogdoches, Texas and son, David V. Bevers, Jr., of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren, Alice Smith and husband, Mike of Midlothian, Texas, Matt Johnson and wife, Hildie of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Rachel McQueen and husband, Clayton of Nacogdoches, Texas, Sarah Nunn of Nacogodches, Texas, Sofie Bevers of Spring, Texas, Cameron Bevers of Spring, Texas and Marissa Gray of San Antonio, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Alexia Johnson, Taylor Johnson, Darcey Smith, Jackson Smith and Ava Nunn.

     In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, David V. Bevers, Sr.

     In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Trawick Presbyterian Church or to the Order of the Eastern Star, Cushing.

     Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2011, from 5-7 pm at Laird Funeral Home.
