Obituary: Albin Joseph Miller

     Graveside service for Albin Joseph “Cotton” Miller, 89, of Nacogdoches, TX, will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 02, 2011, in Calvary Cemetery, Brenham, TX. Mr. Miller passed away June 26, 2011, in Nacogdoches, TX.

     Born March 16, 1922, in Brenham, TX, Albin J. Miller was the son of the late Wallace and Mary (Jozwiak) Miller. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and retired after 27 years with Mosher Steel. Albin “Cotton” Miller was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Nacogdoches, TX.

     “Cotton” was a kind, gentle soul with beautiful blue eyes and a great love for his family. He enjoyed the celebration of his birthdays, especially his last one when he was treated to three parties. Cotton found much pleasure working in his yard. He even helped care for the grounds of his church. He was also a fan of baseball with the Houston Astros being his favorite team.

     Survivors include his daughter, Delores Brewer and husband Jerry of Chireno, TX; 3 sisters: Angela Perkins of Houston, TX; Dorthy Miller and Florence Miller, both of Brenham; 6 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Albin J. Miller was preceded in death by son Albin L. “Butch” Miller, brothers Billy and Charles Miller, and sister Louis Miller.
