Yates (Republican): Primary Comments

Friends and Fellow Republicans:

     The Primary contest is underway!

I am interested in any comments you may have on the televised Republican Primary debate that was held Monday night. Please reply with your comments if you feel inclined to do so.

We are tentatively planning a Straw Poll Event in the Fall where you will be able to participate in voting for your favorite Republican candidate. This is usually fun and informative. Plus, the ladies provide some fantastic food!

I have also included this YouTube link that has a short clip of Ronald Reagan as uses humor to explain how it was to campaign as a Republican in the South (Keep in mind this was a few years back):

Thanks and God bless,

One Response to Yates (Republican): Primary Comments

  1. Mary Wallace says:

I am a Republican in Nacogdoches. I would like representatives who will look out for the Nacogdoches County area as much as they do their hometown areas. I do not find this in ANY of the district or state Representatives we have now. This concerns me a great deal.
We have had Burmese refugees pushed on us, with out asking the citizenry of our area what we think. This will cost us tax dollars. We were not asked nor were we able to vote what we wanted, though it costs us our tax dollars.
We have a transcontinental pipeline crossing portions of Nacogdoches County and that pipeline is coming from Canada and going to the Beaumont refineries. It seems there could be other areas, yet, they are coming through OUR area. Our representatives look the other way, or so it seems. It does seem they’re taking the long way around to get to Beaumont as it seems other areas are being protected.
It is my opinion Nacogdoches County is not being representated as well as some of the other counties around us. If there’s a place to dump it, it seems Nacogdoches County is getting dumped on, and will pay the price.
Every representative I’ve contacted takes no responsibility for any of these actions, yet their “hometowns” fair well and not affected. Is this a coincidence?
Are there no capable representatives from Nacogdoches County who would not be interested in running for office? I believe there are. If one person from Nacogdoches County challenges any incumbent, I will vote for them, democrat or republican, as I feel they will be looking out for our hometown as much as “OUR” representatives are looking out for their hometowns.
