Obituary: Billie Jeanne Tucker

     Billie Jeanne Tucker, born Sept. 14, 1931, in Daingerfield, Texas, passed away March 20, 2011, at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital.

     Billie Jeanne was the daughter of Bill Goodwin and Edna Mae Harwood. She attended San Augustine High School and graduated from the Stephen F. Austin Demonstration School in Nacogdoches.

     In 1952 Billie Jeanne married E.B. “Sonny” Tucker, Jr. She attended the Episcopal Church and was a Sunday school teacher and also a member of the Altar Guild.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mae; husband, Sonny; and a daughter, Jane Ingraham.

     Survivors include her sister, Mae Deanne Blake and brother-in-law Roy M. Blake. Her three children surviving are her daughters, Susan Motley, Anne Lewis, and her son, Edward Tucker III. Her surviving grandchildren are Amy Lewis, Allen Lewis and wife Jenna, Marshall Motley, and Mary Kate Motley. She is also survived by sons-in-law, James Lewis and David Motley.

     The family would like to thank her very special caregivers, Sandy, Barbara, Ruth, Lou, Betty, and Joyce. They also extend their thanks to Dr. Bryan Davis and the staff of Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital for their special care.

     Memorial contributions may be made to American Juvenile Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society, or the Nacogdoches Treatment Center.

     Private services are being conducted under the direction of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors of Nacogdoches.
