NACOGDOCHES POLICE DEPARTMENT SERGEANT IN CRITICAL CONDITION BATTLING COVID

patterson(August 19, 2021): Many members of the Nacogdoches community have contacted us in reference to the serious health situation of one of our officers, graciously offering prayers and financial support to him and his family. With the family’s permission we are going to share the details of the situation with the community and ask for your continued prayers.

NPD Sgt. Al Patterson, is a lifelong public servant having served the Nacogdoches community as a police officer for over two decades. On August 13, 2021 Sgt. Patterson was admitted to the hospital due to complications from Covid 19. The following day Sgt. Patterson was placed into the ICU. Later that afternoon he was taken by ambulance to Medical City Plano for a higher level of care. Sgt. Patterson is still in critical condition in Plano, Tx receiving the absolute best care possible from the medical staff there. Sgt. Patterson is married and has a teenage daughter of which neither can be there with him due to restrictions at the Covid Unit. Sgt. Patterson and his family are deeply loved and respected by the NPD family and we ask for your continued prayers and well wishes during this difficult time for their family.

A BBQ lunch fundraising benefit is being planned for September 17th with further details to be coming soon. Until then due to the overwhelming number of inquiries from our outstanding community, an account has been established at Commercial Bank of Texas to assist the family with the financial burden. Any donations can be made at any CBTX branch to the “Al Patterson Benefit Account”.

On behalf of the Patterson family, we thank you, the Nacogdoches community, for your continued prayers and support.
