NACOGDOCHES POLICE INVESTIGATING HOMICIDE

(July 31, 2024): Around 9:14 p.m. on July 30, 2024, Nacogdoches Police began receiving multiple 911 calls about gunshots being heard in the area of Pearl St. and California St. Officers arrived in the area and found a residence in the 400 block of W. California St. that had been struck multiple times by gunfire. Officers entered the residence to check on the welfare of anyone inside the residence. Inside the residence, officers discovered an adult hispanic male inside the residence that was deceased from what is believed to be a gunshot wound. The Justice of the Peace responded to the scene and an autopsy has been ordered. The Criminal Investigation Division along with the Patrol Division spent most of the night processing the crime scene and collecting evidence. This is an active investigation and as further information becomes available it will be released.
