City of Nacogdoches employee David Wolfgang receives highest honor in the state

     The City of Nacogdoches is excited and honored to announce that Water Utilities employee, David Wolfgang was recently awarded the Wastewater Operator of the Year award for the State of Texas by the Texas Water Utilities Association. This is the highest award given by the organization for operations personnel.

     David Wolfgang started as a shift operator at the wastewater treatment plant 3 years ago. He was promoted to Chief operator, after the retirement of his predecessor, for his tireless effort and dedication that has kept the wastewater treatment system operating at optimal performance with an excellent record of compliance with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality permit requirements. He was nominated for the Operator of the Year at the regional meeting of the Texas Water Utilities Association meeting in Tyler last year and was awarded the Regional award. This made him eligible for the State of Texas award which was recently awarded to him also. “The City of Nacogdoches and the Water Utilities Department are proud to have someone of his caliber working with our organization,” said Superintendent Steven Caudle.
