The Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce that a surprise inspection was conducted at the Nacogdoches County Jail today by the Texas Commission on Jail Standards. Our jail successfully passed the inspection with no noted violations. This success demonstrated during the inspection was due to the diligent, professional effort put forth on a daily basis by our Jail staff, our maintenance personnel and our Administrative staff. It also exemplifies the cooperative effort made possible between my Office and other branches of County Government that help play a role in supporting our jail operations, such as our Commissioners’ Court, Auditor, Courts, Clerks and Prosecutors.
Our mission is to help keep our community safer and meet the duties imposed upon me and my staff by professionally operating a secure, compliant jail facility while housing those incarcerated individuals that are assigned into my custody. I commend the excellent job our staff has done to achieve this certification.
