(July 29, 2021): The Nacogdoches police Department responded to the area of Appleby Sand Blvd. and E. Starr St around 9:40 p.m. on July 28, 2021 in reference to a welfare check on an individual. Officers were in the area attempting to locate the individual when they received a report of a victim laying in the roadway on Appleby Sand Blvd. The victim was pronounced deceased by the Justice of the Peace. The victim is an adult male from the Nacogdoches area. At this time, areas of Appleby Sand Blvd. and E. Starr will be closed for all traffic for the next several hours. We are asking the public to stay out of the area and seek alternative routes.
