(December 31, 2019) The Nacogdoches Police Department is currently investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred on Park St. Around 9:00 p.m. the police department received a 911 call of a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Park St and Crisp Rd. Officers arrived to the accident scene and found the pedestrian deceased from the injuries of the collision. The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian was still on scene. The identity of the victim, who is an adult female, will be released at a later time pending notification of next of kin.
At this time officers are still on the scene of the accident. All of Park st will remain closed from Northeast Stallings Dr. to Tower Rd for the remainder of the night. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route. As further information becomes available it will be released.
