The City of Nacogdoches will host NAC 101 starting January 10, 2019. This multi-series learning event is a unique opportunity for Nacogdoches citizens over the age of 18 to learn about various City departments, City Council, the budget process and more. Sessions are designed to teach citizens how city government works and how to become more involved.

“NAC 101 produces well-informed citizens with a willingness to be involved in local governance, and these students can become ambassadors for Nacogdoches,” says Brian W. Bray, Director of Community Services.

Sessions will be held every 2nd and 4th Thursday from 5:30 to 7:45 p.m. from January 10th through May 9th. Applications are currently available at the C. L. Simon Recreation Center, 1112 North St., and can also be accessed on our city website (https://www.ci.nacogdoches.tx.us/civicalerts.aspx?aid=199). Applications need to be turned in to the Recreation Center or emailed to Brian W. Bray at brayb@ci.nacogdoches.tx.us by 5:00 p.m. on January 2, 2019.

Class size is limited, so turn in your application as soon as possible! This program is your chance to see behind the scenes of city government. Attendees will hear presentations from hardworking city employees like Fire Chief Keith Kiplinger, City Engineer Steve Bartlett, City Librarian Mercedes Franks, Nacogdoches Economic Development Director Larissa Philpot and others.
