Bert Jones, 43, of Nacogdoches passed away Monday, Jan. 10, 2011.
Bert was born Oct. 3, 1967, in Fort Worth. He received a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and devoted his career to the health service field as a Texas state auditor with short service periods as a service director and program director in local East Texas community agencies that service individuals with developmental disabilities. He was an active volunteer in community youth sports.
Survivors: his wife, Sarah Jones; sons, Bryson, Brandon, Brayden, Brennan, and Braxton Jones, all of Nacogdoches; parents, Gary and Bessie Jones of Denton; brothers, Frederick Jones and wife Delora and Gary Jones, all of Denton; sister, Monica Jones of Denton; grandfathers, Emmitt Jones and Jessie Nolley, both of Ft. Worth; and nephews, Christopher Williams and Justin Jones.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, Nacogdoches, with Chaplain Bob Harbuck officiating.
