Chamber selects Teague for interim leadership
Bill Teague, President, Teague & Associates, Inc., is named Interim President/CEO of the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce effective Oct. 1. Teague was selected by a search committee formed from the Chamber’s Executive Board after Chamber President/CEO Bruce Partain’s resignation announcement.
“Bill is dedicated to serving his community without hesitation and does it at a 110 percent,” said Immediate Past Chairman Jessica Henderson,. “Bill may not have lived in Nacogdoches all his life, but he and his wife Lynn have established strong roots here through their volunteerism and genuine love for the people of our community. Bill’s warm and inviting smile, strong work ethic, and history of running a successful non-profit organization made choosing him as interim at the Nacogdoches County Chamber a perfect fit.”
Teague will be responsible for the duties as president set out in the Chamber’s bylaws during the time the committee continues the search for a permanent replacement.
“Interested candidates may submit information to ceosearch@nactx.com,” said Chairman Rusty Rust. “But I would advise candidates to wait for a job description and deadlines to be posted first, as we are just beginning the process, and there is plenty of time.”
Teague’s appointment was publicly announced at the Chamber’s 94th Annual Meeting & Banquet on Sept. 29. He said he is looking forward to working with the dedicated volunteer leadership and staff to ensure the Chamber continues its excellent services to the County.
“It is an humbling honor to be invited to serve the Chamber in this interim capacity, and I am happy to help anyway I can,” Teague said. “I admire and respect the Chamber and Bruce has provided excellent leadership in the 14 years he’s served here, and his talented staff do a great job.”
Partain accepted the President/CEO position at the Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce in Colorado. His last day at the Nacogdoches County Chamber is Sept. 30. He begins his job in Longmont on Oct. 13.
