Are you looking for a fall event that is fun for the whole family? Look no further than the sixth annual Blast from the Past Nacogdoches History Fair hosted by the City of Nacogdoches Historic Sites Department. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, October 11th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Festival Park, located downtown Nacogdoches behind City Hall.
The event is less than a month away, and we have some great activities in store for anyone who attends. Boy Scout Troops from the East Texas area will be on site to demonstrate Dutch oven cooking and knot tying. Kids of all ages can play with antique toys, learn how to seal letters with wax seals, and make corn husk dolls. The Stone Fort Museum will be demonstrating spinning, weaving and dying techniques, where everyone can dye their own bookmark to take home. Attendees can enjoy others activities such as pottery making, rock painting, flint knapping, and much more! Our favorite oxen, Liberty and Justice, will be back this year to demonstrate historic farming techniques. In addition, The Celtair Strong Band will provide live string music during the event, supplying the perfect backdrop to a wonderful day.
Bring your friends and family to Festival Park in downtown Nacogdoches on October 11 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to get involved in a part of history.
