Ten pounds of marijuana found in vehicle

Two Tennessee man were arrested after deputies found 10 pounds of marijuana in the trunk of their car. Sheriff Jason Bridges stated that a Deputy with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff Office conducted a traffic stop on a motor vehicle for a seat belt violation on loop 224 and Highway 21E.
The vehicle was occupied by two males who gave conflicting statements and showed signed of nervousness. The deputy suspected criminal activity was occurring and asked for consent to search the motor vehicle. The driver of the vehicle refused. A Narcotics Detector K-9 conducted a free air search on the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics Deputies conducted a probable cause search of the motor vehicle which lead to the discovery of 10 pounds of marijuana in the trunk of the vehicle that was concealed in a trash bag.

Mario Harvey 25 years of age and Richard Briars 27 years of age were both arrested and transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail. Both men were charged with Possession of marijuana a 3rd felony.
