Mrs. Dorothy Mae Cooper of Nacogdoches County, Texas, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013, at a Nacogdoches hospital at the age of 77.
Mrs. Cooper was born July 10, 1935, in Humble, Texas, though Nacogdoches County had been her home for the past several years.
She enjoyed taking care of her family as well as tending the animals and crops on their farm. Dorothy and her husband spent many happy hours together while fishing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin C. Cooper, on June 28, 2007.
Her survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Marvin Glyn and Mellisa Cooper of Nacogdoches County, Texas, and Roy Farmer of Lufkin, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Bobby Whited of Elgin, Texas; along with nine grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren as well as great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside rites are set for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at Linn Flat Cemetery, located on County Road 929, with Bro. Richard Russell officiating.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Jan. 22, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cason Monk-Metcalf.
