Mr. Jerald Darrell “J.D.” Collins, age 75, of Etoile, Texas, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at Nacogdoches Medical Center.
He was born March 1, 1937, in Baytown, Texas, to parents Clinton Lewis Collins and Reba Lovenia Faught Collins. J.D. was a U.S. Army veteran, serving 1953-1956 during the Korean Conflict.
After retirement from the Lubrizol Corp., he has lived in Etoile for the past several years. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed outings and tournaments, etc., on Lake Sam Rayburn.
He is survived by his wife of almost 53 years, Frances Collins, and their loving pet, Miss Darla.
Graveside rites are set for 3:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Blue Springs Cemetery, located on FM 226 South in Etoile, with Bobby King officiating.
