Mary Frances Moses was born in Tyler, Texas, on December 24, 1925, to Erin and Wilton Franklin. She graduated in 1943 from Longview High School as valedictorian and received her college degree from North Texas State with high honors. She worked as an administrative secretary, business teacher, a bookkeeper, and was a devoted wife and mother.
She married Morgan C. Moses in 1948 and raised two sons and a nephew. She was always industrious, a hard worker and inspired her children to achieve their dreams. She made many friends at homes in Longview, Garland, and Nacogdoches.
Mary Frances was very devoted to her Lord and Savior. She worshiped most of her life in the First United Methodist Church in Nacogdoches. She belonged to the Open Door Sunday School Class for 45 years, taught in the MYF, served on various committees, and helped in Vacation Bible Schools. Mrs. Moses was known for her Christian outreach to those in need of help and emotional support.
She also enjoyed several bridge clubs, the Dilettante Study Club, and spending time with her many friends.
She is survived by her husband, Morgan; sons Mike Moses of Dallas, Texas, and Monte Moses of Englewood, Colorado. Members of Mike’s family are his wife Debi; sons, Mitchell and Mason, their wives Laura and Whitney, and Mary Frances’ great-grandson Miles. Members of Monte’s family are his wife Kathy, and their daughter, Megan.
