The American Legion (post 86) food vendors will be back Friday, September 14 and Saturday, September 15. They will be serving barbeque sandwiches, catfish plate, sausage on a stick and soft drinks. Proceeds to benefit US military veterans.
Other things you might find this time of year: baked goods (breads, cakes, mini cheesecakes, cookies, fried pies & pies), candles, canned goods (jams & jellies, marmalades, preserves, chow-chow, pickled vegetables, salsas & relishes), artisan Texas cheese, fresh ground cornmeal, free-range eggs, organic tilapia fish filets, local raw honey, jewelry, plants (cacti, bedding plants, house plants, fruit trees, trees & whips), smoothies, soaps (lye and herbal), tamales, vinegars and fruit wines. LOCAL PRODUCE: frozen shelled beans (butter & baby Lima), cantaloupes, cucumbers, eggplants (5 kinds), greens (mustard & turnip), okra, onions, fresh shelled purple hull peas, frozen shelled peas (brown Crowder, purple hull & zipper cream), peppers (Anaheim, banana, green Bell, cayenne, red hot cherry, cowhorn, jabanero, jalapeno & serranos), new potatoes, sweet potatoes, squash (patti pan, pinata, yellow & zucchini), tomatoes (green & red) and watermelons.

The Nacogdoches Farmers’ Market, located at the “hitch lot” at the corner of West Main and Pearl Streets, is open from 8 a.m. until noon or later every Saturday morning. The market is not currently open on Wednesday’s. If the market parking lot is full, additional parking is available in the Nacogdoches County Courthouse Annex parking lot. Make plans to join us for our Fall Fling on Saturday, September 22nd.

Yes. The American Legions group has a health permit for a food trailer, just like any other vendor who sells food out of a food truck or trailer has.
Was all this cooked in a ‘commercial’ kitchen as I thought was the law for anybody trying to make a living at a Farmers Market.?
