Obituary: Coy Nutt

     Mr. Coy Nutt, age 90, of Nacogdoches passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012.

     Mr. Nutt was born August 20, 1921, in Dotson, Texas, as a son of the late Robert B. Nutt and Emia Jane (Cassity) Nutt. Coy was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a staff sergeant during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.

     He was married to Lou Vene McDuffie on January 16, 1942, in Nacogdoches. There were longtime active members of Fredonia Hill Baptist Church. His faith was very important to him and lived this dedication each day of his life.

     Mr. Nutt worked for over forty years as a distributor/jobber with Chevron and Morgan Oil Company.

     A loving father, he was always caring and providing for his family. Coy always had a smile on his face.

     Survivors include his son, Coy W. Nutt of Nacogdoches; a daughter, Dian Pitman of Nacogdoches; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

     He was preceded in death by his wife, Lou Vene McDuffie Nutt, on March 27, 2009; a daughter, Linda J. Brewer; brothers, Grady Nutt Sr. and R.T. Nutt; a nephew, John Wayne Nutt; in addition to his parents.

     Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel in Nacogdoches with Pastor Pat Kelly officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Nacogdoches.

     Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2012.
