Minnie Pearl Smith Hammack, 70, of Cushing passed away Monday, June 18, 2012 at Nacogdoches Medical Center.
She was born on June 14, 1942 in Nacogdoches, Texas, to parents Cecil Burch and Flossie Randolph Burch.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel at 5400 North St., Nacogdoches, with Bro. Michael Gillen officiating. Interment will follow at Broaddus Cemetery in Broaddus, Texas.
Friends and family may attend visitation Wednesday, June 20, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel.
Minnie was a member of the Assembly of God of Cushing, Texas. She was a loving wife and mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She liked to help other people and spent many of her years serving others. Minnie enjoyed cooking, gardening and taking care of animals. Her family loved her and they knew she loved them and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James Burch, Carl Wayne Burch, Dancelo Burch, and David Earl Burch; step-son, James Ray Smith; step-daughter, Kellie Jo Hammack; grandsons, Jason Reed and Larry Bayrall.
Minnie is survived by her husband, Donald Hammack; sons, Willie Smith and wife Karen, Cecil Smith and wife Cheryl Ann, and Dody Howard and wife Anita; daughters, Martha King and boyfriend Robert Jones, Minnie Jean Bradshaw and husband James, Jeanette Smith and fiancé Vincent Latham, and Peggy Lara and husband Juan; step-son, Donald Earl Hammack Jr. and wife Samantha; step-daughters, Julie Hammack and Deborah Hammack and fiancé Tim Mudderman; grandchildren, Melissa Crowley and husband Nick, Ray Smith and wife Linda, James Smith and wife Brook, Allen Smith, Cecil Anthony Smith, Joseph Wayne Smith, Debra Smith, Joshua Smith, Amanda Smith, Britta Smith, Jamie Freshour, Kimberly R. Thyen, Darrell Wayne King Jr. and wife Jodi Mae, Krecia L. Robertson and husband Tony, Dan Sandel Jr. and wife Carrie, Patricia Nixon, Nancy Newman, Marie Newman, Kim Ghram, Kim Reed, Jerome Reed, Shanna Brayall, Rose Viasana, Ashley Lara Delgado and husband Alex, Ryan Hammack, Emily Hammack, Haley Mudderman, Taylor Mudderman, Skylor Mudderman, Trevor Mudderman, Marc Howard, and Mindy Harmon and husband Ross; 53 great grandchildren; brothers, J.L. Burch, Billy Ray Burch, Gene Autry Burch, Steve Edward Burch, Johnny Dean Burch, Jerry Dean Burch, and Howard Taylor Burch; sisters, Thelma Lee Brown, Mildred Fay Martin, and Margarette Ann Barrett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
