The event will be held in the new downtown location for CASA of Deep East Texas, 155 E. Main St. – a main thoroughfare for guests attending the 23rd annual Texas Blueberry Festival presented by Brookshire Brothers set for Saturday, June 9.

“Contestants are asked to be here with their cupcake entries by 10:30 a.m. in order to be judged,” said Shannon Samuelson-Reeves, CASA volunteer supervisor. “All contestants will receive a blueberry chef’s apron. Winners in each category will receive a blueberry chef’s hat and a blueberry first place ribbon.”

During the festival day, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., CASA will also offer all children a place to create and enjoy their own blueberry-sweet treats at the Kids Cupcake Decorating Booth. “A nominal fee of $1 for a cupcake will put a cupcake, icing and blueberry theme decorations in their little hands with big imaginations,” Samuelson-Reeves said. “Look for the Blueberry Lemonade Stand too!”
