Search warrant leads to two arrests, the seizure of several types of controlled substances and marijuana

     The Nacogdoches County Constable has conducted a search warrant that has lead to two arrests and the seizure of several types of controlled substances and marijuana. Constable Jason Bridges stated that the constable office along with the Nacogdoches Police Department executed a search warrant on West View street around 6:30 this morning.

     The two suspects, who were the target of the ongoing narcotics investigation were found inside the residence with their two small children. A search of the residence revealed 15 grams of crack cocaine, 4grams of powder cocaine, 41 ecstasy pills, ½ gram of methamphetamine , 3 pounds of marijuana and four marijuana plants that were found inside of a closet.

     Constable Bridges stated that the investigation started last month when deputies with the precinct 4 constable office seized narcotics from a traffic stop in precinct 4. Through further investigation our office was able to track down the source of where those narcotics came from. Bridges stated during that time, the constable office conducted surveillance on a residence on west view street and was able to identify two suspects that we believe have been involved in selling narcotics. Constable Bridges stated that during the course of the investigation along with other police investigations, we were able to obtain a probable cause search warrant on the residence.

     Officers from both agencies conducted an extensive search of the residence where several different types of narcotics were found concealed throughout the residence. Some of the drugs were also found hidden inside boxes of cookies and other food throughout the residence.

     Arrested at the scene were Melanie Rose Arnold 29 years of age and Jarcory Bussey 33 years of age both from Nacogdoches , Texas. Both subjects were charged with possession of a controlled substance 2nd degree felony, Possession of a controlled substance 2nd felony, Possession of marijuana state Jail felony and Child Endangerment a state jail felony.

     Constable Bridges stated that both subjects were also charged with Child Endangerment due to the majority of the narcotics were easily accessible to the children. There was also a load short barrel shotgun that was found right beside the bed that was laying within arm’s reach of the two small children who are both under 3 years of age. Constable Bridges stated that Child Protective Services was called to the scene and are assisting with the ongoing investigation involving the children. Bridges stated that there were other factors present inside the residence that also played a factor in the Child Endangerment charge. Both subjects were transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail where they were booked in by the Constable Office.

    Glad to see some effort to get this criminal activity out of Nacogdoches County. Doesn’t look like the S.O. under Kerss will do anything.
