Wesley Dee Yeager Sr., age 87, of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012, at a local hospital.
He was born December 21, 1924, in Tanglewood, Texas, to parents I.W. and Hattie Emma (Wagner) Yeager and had lived in Nacogdoches since 1979. Mr. Yeager worked with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 35 years, retiring as division plant engineer. After retirement from Southwestern Bell he served the City of Nacogdoches as superintendent of public works.
Mr. Yeager served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth A. Yeager of Nacogdoches; sons, Wes Yeager of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jimmy Yeager and wife Lisa of Spring, and Dwayne Yeager of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Jennifer Yeager White of Austin, Justin Yeager of Austin, and Amanda Yeager of Springfield, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, W.W. Yeager, A.B. Yeager, Jim Yeager, and Billy Yeager; and a sister, Mary Beth Tate.
Graveside rites will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Sunset Memorial Park, Nacogdoches, with Dr. Allen Reed officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 3, 2012, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at Cason Monk-Metcalf.
