Obituary: Garry Lynn Evans

     Mr. Garry Lynn Evans, 52, passed away on January 9, 2012 at his residence. He was born on February 11, 1959 in Wichita Falls, Texas, to parents Burl J. Evans, Sr. and Peggy Joe Hurst Evans.

     Funeral services have been set for 1:00 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches, with Bro. John McGuire officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, located at 5127 North Street in Nacogdoches.

     Garry was a loving father, a wonderful son, a wonderful brother who will be missed by those who knew him most. Garry was a very private man who was respectful, polite and willing to help anyone who asked.

     He is survived by daughter, Megan Evans; mother, Peggy Joe Hurst Evans, father, Burl Evans, Sr. and wife Gay; twin brother, Col. Larry Evans and wife Jennifer; brothers, B. J. Evans, Jr., Jeff Evans and wife Mary, sisters; Becky Graves Canyon, Debbie Evans Dietz and husband Ron; step-brothers, Kevin Lee Brittain, and Toby Brittain; grandmother, Evelyn Evans and numerous nieces and nephews, and great niece and nephews.

     He is preceded in death by grandparents, Meredith and Mabel Evans, Roland Allen Hurst and Wanda Sue Schaffer.

     Visitation will be held Saturday, Jan. 14, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cason Monk-Metcalf. Pallbearers will be Ron Dietz, Laremy Evans, Kevin Brittain, Rushton Graves, Jefferson Evans ll and Bruce Childers.
