Mr. Otis Max McCormack, 93, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2012, in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Max was born March 21, 1918, in Linn Flat, Texas, to parents Otis J. McCormack and Cecile Weatherly McCormack. He married Fairy Blankenship on January 5, 1942; she preceded him in death in 2004. After serving as a U.S. Army medic in World War II, Max moved to Waco, Texas, with his wife. He worked as a shift foreman for Owens-Illinois Glass Plant in Waco until his retirement.
Survivors include a nephew, Max M. McCormack, Sr. and wife Linda; niece Suzy McCormack Cantwell; several great and great-great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
For the past several years, Max made his home at The Arbor Assisted Living Facility where he considered many of the residents and staff as “second family.” He loved, too, the men from Calvary Baptist Church visiting team.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2012, from 1:00 pm – 2:15 pm at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors.
A graveside service will follow at 2:30 pm at Linn Flat Cemetery with Dr. Bill Parsons of First United Methodist Church Nacogdoches where Max was a member will conduct the service.
