James Eugene “Midget” Brittain, 54, of Douglass, Texas passed on October 8, 2011 in Nacogdoches, Texas with his loving family by his side. James was born on August 19, 1957 in Center, Texas to parents Mary Murphy Brittain and JC Brittain. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 with Brother Bobby King officiating at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Douglass Cemetery in Douglass.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Murphy Brittain; father, JC Brittain; and sister, Phyllis (P.J.) Cortines.
James is survived by loving wife, Carol Brittain of 33 years; son, Corey Brittain and wife Shellie; grandson, Caden; daughter, Summer Brittain, all of Douglass; son, James (J.C.) Brittain and wife, Jamie of Nacogdoches; grandson, Brogan; brothers, Lewis Brittain of Lumberton, Bobby Brittain of Center, Keith Brittain of Huntington, Robert Brittain of Woodville; sisters, Linda Gail Jacobs of Center and Melissa Evans of Joaquin; and second mother, Linda Brittain of Center. Pallbearers will be Corey Brittain, J.C. Brittain, Keith Brittain, Bobby Brittain, Robert Brittain, and Lewis Brittain. Honorary pallbearers will be Kris Ball and Jesse Hickman.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 11 at Cason Monk- Metcalf Funeral Directors from 5-7 pm.
