City of Nacogdoches GIS Maps & Apps website goes live

The City of Nacogdoches is pleased to announce the new ArcGIS app feature on the City’s website. Engineering staff has been working for several months to upgrade the City’s GIS features on the website and are thrilled that the changes are now complete. “This new feature is so much more user friendly,” said Engineering Tech Supervisor Tred Riggs.

Citizens can log on to www.ci.nacogdoches.tx.us and click on “resources” and down to Maps/GIS to utilize the new feature. Folks can also go directly to the map site by visiting http://maps.ci.nacogdoches.tx.us/MapsAndApps/mapps.html. Citizens can view utility lines, look up addresses and event print maps of Lake Nacogdoches by visiting the new site. City Staff will continually update the website by adding new maps and data as it becomes available.

Citizens may even create and upload their own apps by visiting www.arcgis.com and creating a user account. Smartphone uses may download the ArcGIS App and visit the City’s maps easily on their handheld devices.

“We encourage citizens to view the new site to look up a variety of information from zoning and flood plan information for specific properties to whether or not their property is located in a historic district,” said Riggs.
