Obituary: Mary Stone Wisener

     Funeral service for Mrs. Mary Stone Wisener, 89, of Nacogdoches, Texas will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at 1:00 pm at Laird Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Hunter officiating. Burial will be at Old Union Cemetery.

     Mrs. Wisener was born on September 28, 1921, the oldest of nine children, to the late Joseph Benjamin and Annie Laura Taylor Stone. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 17, 2011, in Nacogdoches.

     Mary grew up in Nacogdoches. She was a devout Baptist and was a long standing member of Grace Bible Church. She was a Christian and loved to sing in church. She was a wonderful cook and she loved to sew and quilt. Mary was self employed having owned and operated Wisener Daycare in Nacogdoches for 20 years. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who sacrificed for her family.

     Mary is survived by a son, Robert Wisener, Jr. of Nacogdoches; two daughters, Sylvia Meyers of Nacogdoches and Hazel Maxwell and husband, Glynn of Liberty; three brothers, Kenneth Stone and wife, Joy of Nacogdoches, Moogie Stone and wife, Rose Marie of Houston and Donnie Stone of Nacogdoches; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

     In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jean Stone and by 5 brothers and sisters.

     Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2011, from 6-8 pm at Laird Funeral Home.
