A graveside service for Mr. Meltruem Lee “Bill” Mills, 83, of Houston, Texas will be held on Wednesday, July 13. 2011, at 10:00 at Greenwood Cemetery in Garrison, Texas with Bro. Bill Taylor officiating. Mr. Mills was born on September 30, 1927, in Nacogdoches, Texas to the late Dewey A. and Vera Socia Mills. He passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2011, in Houston, Texas. Bill served his country in the US Navy. He retired from Oteco as a supervisor. He was a simple man and liked simple things in life. He loved animals and working in the yard and watching things grow. He spent most of his time with his family and he like to cook on the grill for them. Bill is survived by a daughter, Lynn Mills Bryant Naranjo of Houston; sister, Sarah Elizabeth Smith of Timpson; grandchildren, Jason Alan Bryant and wife, Nancy of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Jaimie Aline Naranjo of Houston and Jonathan Andrew Naranjo of Houston; great-grandchildren, Tyler Atwell Dixon, Ashlyn Elizabeth Dixon, Jackson Maximus-McDaniel Bryant and Addison Quinn Bryant all of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; one nephew, Kenneth Smith of Timpson; as well as numerous other extended family and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Dewey Mills, Jr., James Harold Mills, Thomas Gene Mills and Robert Allen “Bob” Mills. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2011, from 6-8 pm at Taylor Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Taylor Funeral Home of Timpson.
