Mary Jane Molandes, 83, life long resident of Nacogdoches passed away on June 30, 2011. She was born on September 25, 1928 in Nacogdoches to parents Lewis Molandes and Rena Rodrigues. The family will receive guests from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Saturday July 2, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Monsignor James Young officiating and Rosary will begin at 8:45., the service will follow. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Moral Cemetery.
Mary Jane was devoted to her family and all of the responsibilities related to “farm life”. She stepped right in to make sure that meals were prepared, animals were kept, the garden was producing and the canning completed. During her free time you would her quilting, training up children and cooking hot tamales. Mary was very frank and rarely held her opinion. She was humorous and her grand children enjoyed being around her. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
Mary Jane is survived by daughter, Sherrie Ferguson and husband William of Nacogdoches; sons, David Martines, and wife Rose, of Lufkin; Langston Martines and wife Beverly of Lufkin, daughter-in-law, Susan Martines of Nacogdoches; brothers Clifford Molandes and wife Jeraldine of Lufkin, Leonard Molandes and wife Shirley of Lufkin; sister-in-law Pauline Molandes of Nacogdoches, 13 grand-children, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mary Jane was preceeded in death by her parents, late husband Francis Carl Martines, son, George Lewis Martines; brother, Leo Molandes and Winfred Molandes, and one grandson, Mitchell Martines.
Pallbearers are William Carl Ferguson, Byron Ferguson, Scott Langley, Mark Smith, Christopher Langley, Brent Chase Whitaker, and Cody Langley.
