On Saturday 04-16-2011 the Nacogdoches County Constable Office Precinct 4 has seized 72 pounds of marijuana from a traffic stop on Highway 59 south located in precinct 4. Constable Bridges stated that Deputies Allen and Skillern were on patrol on highway 59 s when they stopped a vehicle for a seatbelt violation that was occupied by a male and female.
Deputies became suspicious of criminal activity when they observed that both subjects in the vehicle was extremely nervous and gave conflicting stories about there trip. Deputies could also smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Deputies conducted a search of the motor vehicle and located several bales of marijuana inside of the trunk. Approximately 72 pounds of marijuana , with a street value of over $100,000.00 dollars was seized from the trunk of the vehicle.
Both occupants were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana a second degree felony. The two subjects arrested were 34 year old Clarence Manning from Jonesboro, Arkansas and 26 year old Shalauna Collier also from Jonesboro, Arkansas. Both Manning’s and Collier’s bonds were set at $25,000 dollars each.
