Obituary: Ray Lynn Greer

     Ray Lynn Greer, 53, of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2011, in Nacogdoches.

     Ray was born November 14, 1957, in Nacogdoches, Texas. He was a cattle rancher and worked in construction building homes and also doing renovations. Ray was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had several mounted trophies of Bass, Elk and Deer. A great highlight in Ray’s life was his annual Elk hunting trips to Colorado. He enjoyed taking care of his animals and pets.

     Survivors: his wife, Joyce Greer; mother, Beverly Payne; parents-in-law, Royce and Ann Stewart of Jefferson, Texas; daughter, Tracy Greer Bryan and husband Danny of Henderson, Texas; granddaughter, Avery Reese Bryan of Henderson, Texas; brother-in-law, Dave Stewart and wife Donna of Lufkin, Texas; uncles, Wallace Donahoe and wife Betty of Spring, Texas and Winfred Donahoe and wife Sarah of Nacogdoches, Texas; numerous nieces, cousins and friends.

     He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Greer, Sr.; step-father, Dr. Arnold Payne; beloved grandparents, Bennie and Lillian Wyatt Donahoe and Edward and Norma Greer.

     Funeral services are set for 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2011, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel with Bro. Paul Sevar officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Nacogdoches.

     Pallbearers will be Johnny Mac King, Ray Boyett, Dennis Johnson, Bill McEelyea, John Guillory and Chris Massey.
