Stephen F. Austin State University’s construction management program will host an open house for the construction management students’ recently built tiny homes from 11 a.m. to noon May 9 at the Village Nac community.

Stephen F. Austin State University’s construction management students in the James I. Perkins College of Education’s School of Human Sciences will host an open house featuring two tiny homes they built this spring from 11 a.m. to noon May 9 at the Village Nac community at 1188 County Road 823 in Nacogdoches.

Students worked together to build the tiny homes on concrete slabs for Village Nac, a faith-based shelter for those experiencing mental health and homelessness. This project marks the fourth year students have built the tiny homes. Visitors will get to view the homes and hear testimonials from students about the project.

“We welcome the community to come and see what the students have been working hard on in the past semester,” said David Martin, construction management program director. “They are gaining hands-on experience to use in their construction careers while supporting the local community.”

This event is free and open to the public. For more information about the program, visit the construction management program’s website.
