Obituary: Edward Warren McClinton

     Edward Warren McClinton, age 79, of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012.

     He was born June 4, 1932, in Snyder, Texas, to parents, Rowan Oliver McClinton and Elizabeth Louise Martin. Ed had lived in Nacogdoches for the past several years. He retired after a successful career in electrical sales. He had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

     A great moment in Ed’s life was marrying his longtime sweetheart, Margaret Chambers, on January 17, 1953. During their 59 years of marriage, they enjoyed extensive traveling throughout the United States and were members of the Lumberjack Sam’s RV Club.

     Ed was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Nacogdoches Aero Modelers, and Nacogdoches Gardener’s Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman but most of all valued his close relationship with his wife, children, grandchildren, and other family members.

     Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Margaret McClinton of Nacogdoches; children, Cathy Stanton and husband John of Clarksville, Tennessee, Larry McClinton and wife Charlotte of Houston, Suzy Hall and husband Mark of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, and Gary McClinton of Nacogdoches; a sister, Shirley McDaniel and husband Bill of Kingwood; grandchildren, Jordan McClinton, Jake Stanton, Sean McClinton, Stephen Hall, Travis Stanton, Megan Ruess, Garrett Hall, Matthew McClinton, Rachel McClinton, and Daniel McClinton; step-grandchildren, Amy Finger, Sarah Baker, and Matthew Baker; great-grandchildren, Avery McClinton, Kate McClinton and Reese McClinton; and step-great-grandchildren, OIivia Finger and Justine Finger.

     Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2508 Appleby Sand Road, Nacogdoches, with Monsignor James E. Young officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Military rites will be rendered by the United States Army.

     Visitation will be Friday, March 2, 2012, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, with Rosary following at 7:00 p.m.
Ed’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Members of Lumberjack Sam’s RV Club will be honorary pallbearers.
