In reference to P11-21266, the suspect is described as a black male, tall, wearing dark jeans. No further description. An undetermined amount of cash was taken from the occupant. The case is under investigation at the present time. The weapon used was a handgun.

Obituary: Charles F. Mooney 1928 – 2011

     Charles F. Mooney, 83, of Nacogdoches County, Texas, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2011, in Lufkin, Texas.

     He was born to parents Chester Mooney and Jewel Holcomb in Nacogdoches on April 25, 1928.

     Visitation will be at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, 5400 North Street, Nacogdoches, on Monday, December 12, from 5-7 p.m. There will be a second visitation beginning Tuesday at 12:00 noon in the Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel.

     Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec 13, at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Tom Jacobs officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

     Charles was an honorable man who loved his family and service to his fellow members of his community. He was a lifelong resident of our Nacogdoches Community, a graduate of Nacogdoches High School, served as a County Service Officer for 12 years, affiliated with the Democratic Party for Nacogdoches, and he was a member of Milam Masonic Lodge #2.

     Charles was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruby Grace Mooney; wife, Katheryn Kendrick; sister, Carolyn Brymer; daughter-in-law, Deborah Mooney.

     Mr. Mooney is survived by his wife of 29 years, Vickie Oseas; sons, Michael Mooney and Beverly, Charlie Mooney and Judith Lynn Thompson; daughters, Kendra Slaten, Kathy Ford and husband, Robert, Charlene Ward and husband, Edwin, Teresa Baker and husband, Steven; 15 grandchildren ; 20 great-grandchildren; niece, Le Ann Buckley; nephew, Mark Brymer; brother-in-law, Buford “Bookie” Brymer; and his canine companion, “Rufus.”

Obituary: Cecil Edward Denison

     Funeral services for Cecil Edward Denison, 56, of Timpson, TX, will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Timpson, with Bro. Cliff Hughes and Bro. Eric Pledger officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3:30 PM, Tuesday, in Munnerlyn Chapel Cemetery, Mira, LA. Mr. Denison passed away December 10, 2011, in Hope, AR.

     Born January 01, 1955, in Shreveport, LA, Cecil Denison was the son of the late Billy Sanders Denison and Annie Belle (Adcock) Denison. He was a graduate of North Caddo High School in Vivian, LA. Mr. Denison was a welding inspector for Center Point Energy and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Timpson. Cecil and Nancy Decker Stephens were married August 19, 2006, in Timpson.

     Survivors include his wife Nancy Denison of Timpson; mother Annie Bell Denison of Mira, LA; brother Billy Denison and wife Theresa of Avinger, TX; sister Nina Dickerson and husband Greg of DeBerry, TX; daughter Anna Austin and husband Brad of Vivian, LA; stepson Andy Stephens and wife Jody of Timpson; stepdaughter Emily Jordan and husband Bill of Greenwood, AR; grandchildren: Landry Kate Austin; Hayden and Nathan Jordan; Allysha, Jamie, and Xander Stephens; and “granddaughter” Gretta Oliver.

Obituary: Mozelle Wheeler

     Mozelle Wheeler, 90, of Tyler, formerly of Nacogdoches, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2011 in Tyler, Texas. She was bron on May 17, 1921 in San Augustine, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at 11:00 Am in the chapel of Laird Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home of Nacogdoches.

December 12: SFA Crime Log

Friday December 9, 2011, 2011 – Monday December 12, 2011, 2011

On 12-11-2011 an Officer was dispatched to the lobby of UPD in reference to Theft. Upon arrival the Officer made contact with the complainant, who advised on 12-11-2011 his unattended laptop was stolen from the fourth floor lobby of Lumberjack Landing. There are no suspects.

On 12-11-2011 an Officer located five subjects inside the Griffith Fine Arts Building and discovered two of the subjects in possession of drug paraphernalia. The Officer issued two subjects citations for possession of drug paraphernalia. There are two suspects.

On 12-10-2011 an Officer was dispatched to the lobby of UPD in reference to Criminal Mischief. Upon arrival the Officer made contact with the complainant, who advised between 12-8-2011 and 12-10-2011 her vehicle’s mirror was damaged in lot 43. There are no suspects.

On 12-10-2011 an Officer made contact with three subjects in front of Steen Hall. The Officer discovered that the subjects were minors that had been consuming alcohol. All three subjects were issued citations for minor consuming alcohol. There are three suspects.

On 12-9-2011 an Officer was dispatched to Kerr Hall in reference toCriminal Mischief. Upon arrival the Officer made contact with the complainant, who advised on 12-9-2011 two unknown subjects damaged the volleyball net behind Kerr Hall. There are no suspects.

On 12-9-2011 an Officer was dispatched to Hall 14 in reference to Theft. Upon arrival the Officer made contact with the complainant, who advised that between 12-7-2011 and 12-8-2011 his unattended laundry was stolen from the laundry room at Hall 14. There are no suspects.

On 12-9-2011 an Officer was dispatched to the lobby of UPD in reference to Theft. Upon arrival the Officer made contact with the complainant via phone and the complainant stated on May 13, 2011 his son’s laptop was stolen at Hall 16. The laptop was recovered on 12-10-2011. There is one suspect.
