Obituary: Wanda Elaine (Milford) Clay

     Wanda Elaine (Milford) Clay went to be with the Lord December 16, 2011. She was born in Timpson, TX, April 23, 1932, to Simmie and Thelma (Bussey) Milford. Wanda was 79 years of age.

     Wanda graduated from Timpson High School in 1950. She then worked for Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator in her younger years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She taught Sunday School for many years, she loved the Lord, and was of Baptist faith. She was a people person, loved to talk and never met a stranger.

     Wanda Clay was preceded in death by her parents Simmie and Thelma (Bussey) Milford, two brothers Kenneth Paul Milford and Damon Earl Milford, and one son Gerry Michael Clay.

     Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Harold Clay of Lake Jackson, TX; son Jeffery Clay of Lake Jackson; daughters Debbie Klatt and Lisa Chapman, both of Lake Jackson; sister Sue Milford Belflower and husband Steve of Laneville, TX; daughter-in-law Belinda Clay of Loganville, GA; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

Unshelled peanuts available this Saturday at the Farmer’s Market

     George Millard will have unshelled peanuts. And be sure to look for more goodies this weekend at the market!

     Things to look for: baked goods (breads, cakes, cookies & pies), candles, canned goods (wild-picked jams & jellies including may haw, blackberry, blueberry, muscatine and wild plum as well as jams, marmalades, preserves, chow-chow, pickled vegetables, salsas & relishes), ceramics, artisan Texas cheeses, corn meal, free-range eggs, herbs (basil, coriander, mint, oregano, parsley, rosemary & thyme), dried herbs, local raw honey, jewelry, plants (house plants, bedding plants, trees & whips), smoothies, soaps (lye and herbal), tamales, vinegars and fruit wines. Obituary: Gregory M. Luman

     Funeral service for Mr. Gregory M. Luman, 49, of Nacogdoches, Texas formerly of Center will be held on Monday, December 19, 2011, at 10:00 am at Laird Funeral Home with Dr. Jack Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Herman Cemetery near Center.

     Mr. Luman died on December 15, 2011, in Nacogdoches. He was born on February 8, 1962, in Center.

     Visitation will be Sunday, December 18, 2011, from 3-6 pm at Laird Funeral Home.
