     Funeral service for Luther Ray Muckleroy will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, March 2, 2012, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel with Monsignor James Young and Bro. Freddie Bird officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview cemetery in Nacogdoches.

     Luther Ray Muckleroy, better known as “Luke” was born October 5, 1951, in Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital to Guy Taylor Muckleroy Jr. and Mary Ellen Muckleroy. Luke’s father preceded him in death in October 2008. Luke is survived by sister, Mary Elizabeth Muckleroy Lampin and husband Lindon and brother Charlie Edward Muckleroy and wife Rita all from Nacogdoches.

     Luke was a lifelong resident of Nacogdoches for 60 years. He has many friends. He never met a stranger and was very well liked. Luke graduated from Woden High School and became a carpenter, a talent he learned from his dad. He left his job as a carpenter and became an off shore worker for many years. He tried his hand at raising broilers for Pilgrim Pride for several years.

     He married his one and only true love, Rhonda Wright and together they had their daughter, Kristin Nicole Muckleroy.

     Luke and Rhonda were divorced after seven years of marriage but in his heart she remained his true love. He then wrapped his life around Kristin and Matthew Pate who was like a son to him. Luke’s new love then became his Harley. He was so proud of it. He called it his wife.

     Luke had a tragedy happen to him. He had a wreck on his Harley which caused him to lose a leg. He didn’t give up, he got an artificial limb and bought himself another Harley.

     Luke had several loved ones. A beautiful granddaughter, Ja Nee, a step-granddaughter LeLe; a handsome grandson, Jaylon; son-in-law, Willie Dade “Honey Bee,” Kristin’s half-sister, Shelby Sitton, and several nieces and nephews. They were all very precious to him and he loved them dearly. They truly were the apple of his life. He longed to see and hear from them every day.

     Moments before his death as he saw all his loved ones, Luke held on until Rhonda came to his bedside. Within a few hours after Rhonda’s visit, he left this world and we can truly say “He Stopped Loving Her Today.” Luke’s favorite song was “He Stopped Loving Her Today.”

     Pallbearers will be Ray Boyett, Danny Bates, Johnny King, Johnny Lesley, Danny Pate and Bobby Boyett.

     Honorary pallbearers will be Jory Muckleroy, Woody Clifton, Roger Mosher, James Rogers and the Harley Davidson Easy Riders.

     Wesley Dee Yeager Sr., age 87, of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012, at a local hospital.

     He was born December 21, 1924, in Tanglewood, Texas, to parents I.W. and Hattie Emma (Wagner) Yeager and had lived in Nacogdoches since 1979. Mr. Yeager worked with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 35 years, retiring as division plant engineer. After retirement from Southwestern Bell he served the City of Nacogdoches as superintendent of public works.

     Mr. Yeager served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Baptist church.

     Survivors include his wife, Ruth A. Yeager of Nacogdoches; sons, Wes Yeager of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jimmy Yeager and wife Lisa of Spring, and Dwayne Yeager of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Jennifer Yeager White of Austin, Justin Yeager of Austin, and Amanda Yeager of Springfield, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, W.W. Yeager, A.B. Yeager, Jim Yeager, and Billy Yeager; and a sister, Mary Beth Tate.

     Graveside rites will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Sunset Memorial Park, Nacogdoches, with Dr. Allen Reed officiating.

     Visitation will be Saturday, March 3, 2012, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at Cason Monk-Metcalf.
