Margaret Irene Howard, age 94, of Cushing died Friday, Aug. 17, 2012.
Mrs. Howard was born January 2, 1918. She was a former resident of Amarillo before coming to Nacogdoches County a few years ago.
Arrangements are pending and will be announced later.

The Nacogdoches Farmers’ Market, located at the “hitch lot” at the corner of West Main and Pearl Streets, is open from 8 a.m. until noon or later every Saturday morning. The market is also open on Wednesdays from 3 to 6 p.m. until August 29th. If the market parking lot is full, additional parking is available in the Nacogdoches County Courthouse Annex parking lot.

The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music’s 2012 Chamber Music in the Pines Festival will conclude at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, in Cole Concert Hall. The final concert, “Music of the West,” features music from Europe and the United States.
New SFA music faculty member Jeremy Fain (bassoon) will make his Nacogdoches debut during the final concert of SFA’s 2012 Chamber Music in the Pines Festival at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, in Cole Concert Hall on the SFA campus.
Guest pianist Gustavo Bianchi, who has won several international competitions and has concertized throughout the United States, South America and Australia, will also perform.
Goodall, Dalmas, Raychev and Bianchi will open the concert with a quartet for oboe, violin, cello and piano by Bohuslav Martinů.
Jeremy Fain, the newest member of the SFA music faculty, will make his debut performance with the Stone Fort Quintet as the group presents “Miniatures for Woodwind Quintet” by Afro-American composer William Grant Still.
The concert will conclude with “Septet in A minor, Op. 147” for flute, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, violin, cello and piano by German composer Louis Spohr.
“The septet’s unusual instrumentation, beautifully balanced writing and romantic sensibility make it a wonderful closing piece for our festival,” said Dalmas.
Immediately after the concert, the SFA Friends of Music will host a public reception in the lobby of Cole Concert Hall, 2210 Alumni Drive.
Tickets to the concert are $10 for adults, $7.50 for seniors and $5 for students. Advance tickets can be purchased by visiting www.finearts.sfasu.edu or by calling (936) 468-6407 or (888) 240-ARTS during regular business hours. Tickets will be available at the door on Sunday.

IN RE: P12-14360: A suspect described as a heavy set black female, knocked on the complainant’s door, and then forced entry into the apartment. The suspect accused the complainant of talking about her, and assaulted her with hands and fists. Minor injury- no medical treatment required. Case under investigation.
