A traffic stop has lead to the arrest of three subjects’ and the confiscation of 23 pounds of marijuana. Sheriff Jason Bridges stated that on Saturday morning, Deputies with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff Office stopped two vehicles traveling north bound on Highway 59 that were following each other.
During the traffic stop, Deputies observed that the subjects were very nervous and gave conflicting statements to deputies. Deputies obtained consent to search both motor vehicles and found 23 lbs of marijuana in the trunk of the 2nd vehicle. Deputies found evidence linking the driver of the 1st vehicle to the marijuana that was hidden in the 2nd vehicle.
Chinika Pittman 27 years of age, Elva Mayweather 34 years of age, and Conrado Hinds 42 years of age were arrested for possession of marijuana 3rd felony and Criminal Conspiracy a state jail felony. All subjects were from Lawrenceville, GA. Street value of drugs confiscated is $23,000.00 dollars.

Obituary: Billie Jaunita Matlock
Mrs. Billie Jaunita Matlock, 83, quietly passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013 at her residence. She was born on August 28, 1929 in Shelby County, Texas to parents Charles Austin Harbison and Willie Jasper Smith Harbison.
A funeral service will be conducted by Bro. Freddie Bird on Tuesday, January29, 2013 at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Obituary: Lindsay Robbins Burr
Lindsay Robbins Burr, age 59, was born Aug. 19, 1953, in Nacogdoches and died Nov. 18, 2012, in Tempe, Ariz.
Lindsay was the son of Jesse Herndon Burr (deceased) and Betty Jane Fagan Burr (deceased). Lindsay was brother to Herndon Hutchinson Burr (deceased) and is survived by his sister Nona Burr Donahue (Jim) and his nieces Leah Jane Kaplan and Serena Louise Kaplan.
A memorial reception honoring his life was held from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Burr residence, 613 Bostwick Lane, Nacogdoches.
Memorials may be made to the Betty Fagan Burr Scholarship, c/o Stephen F. Austin State University, P.O. Box 13005, SFA Station, Nacogdoches, Texas 75962-3005.

DWI with Child passenger- vehicle was involved in a one car accident on South Fredonia. Officers arrested James Angle for DWI. A passenger in the vehicle, a 7 year old male, was released to his mother after she was called to the scene by officers.
