SFA Charter School Board to meet Nov. 3
The Stephen F. Austin State University Charter School Board will meet at noon Monday, Nov. 3, in the Elementary Education Conference room of the Janice A. Pattillo Early Childhood Research Center.
There will be a public hearing on the Schools Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas, as well as a regular board meeting. The Schools FIRST hearing will address the financial report of the SFA Charter School, as determined by the Texas Education Agency.
Created by the 77th Texas Legislature in 2001, the financial accountability rating system is designed to encourage public schools to better manage their financial resources in order to provide the maximum allocation possible for direct instructional purposes. The FIRST ratings are based on 20 established financial indicators, including operating expenditures for instruction, tax collection rates, student-teacher ratios and long-term debt.
The meeting agenda can be viewed online at www.sfasu.edu/charter_school. The meeting is open to the public, and individuals may request to address the board by completing a board meeting information form located on the school’s website.
If additional information is needed, please contact the SFA Charter School Office at (936) 468-5899.
